It is not the length of your steps that determines your progress but the direction in which they lead you.

Old Cajun Proverb

Whether forgiven or not, asking for forgiveness is a treasure unto itself. The admission of wrongdoing, the request for grace and the humility to admit the transgression are evidence of God at work in our lives. At times, this is all we have and at those times, this is enough.

I'm not impressed...........

Once I have mastered a skill, I no longer am impressed by it. Things that intimidate me, that seem unattainable, once attained lose their distinction as accomplishments. I am impressed by the accomplishments of others, even respectful of them until I attain the same skill/license/knowledge. What's the deal with that? Is that a common character defect? Is it fear of failure or lack of confidence, what? The fact that I am alive and productive is a miracle, God's work. I still had to seek Him, I still had to do what he would not, that which I could do for myself. I've just completed ninety days of training to do a job that, at first, scared me to death. I have miles to go to be competent but I now know that I will get there. Instead of being proud, I diminish the accomplishment to suit a lesser self image. Maybe this instance of self awareness will spark a change. I think I would be impressed by that. BRISTOL, UNITED KINGDOM - FEBRUARY 24: A school pupils at the Bridge Learning Campus uses a computer at the school on February 24, 2010 in Bristol, England. The 40million GBP campus in Hartcliffe, Bristol, was constructed as part of the Government's Building Schools for the Future programme and opened in January 2009. It now offers over 800 pupils a life long provision of learning from nursery, reception and primary to secondary and post-16 education. As the UK gears up for one of the most hotly contested general elections in recent history it is expected that that the economy, immigration, the NHS and education are likely to form the basis of many of the debates.
