Whomp, bam, boom, tap (repeat incessantly)

I have the noisiest neighbors in the world. I was convinced they were running laps in their apartment but after prolonged exposure to and a study of the sounds, my new theory is that they have a Wii for the two boys to play with while Mom does the Jane Fonda workout and the girls practice their cheerleading. Lately the "usual" noise has been augmented by a rhythmic tapping on the wall for which I have no explanation other than maybe it is the grandmother sending an SOS to be rescued from this intolerably loud household.

I haven't complained to the apartment management because we are renting month-to-month and had planned to be in a single family house by now and I keep thinking..."not much longer..." Also, I have seen two members of the household, boys around ten years old, and I don't know if males that age are capable of living life at a lowered volume. I tell you one thing, the apartment below them is vacant and when someone moves in THERE, complaints will definitely be forthcoming.

Recently I have been hearing an echo of the TV in my living room and was puzzled by what might be wrong with the TV, maybe it's the higher volume required to overcome the din from next door but then I realized the same thing was happening when listening to the radio in my car. Have I suffered permanent hearing damage from this situation with the acrobatic troupe with whom I share a wall? Who knows, but I am ready to move!

  1. I lived in an apartment for 15 years. I liked the fact that any noises I heard could be blamed on the neighbors. Now, living in a house, all the noises are mine...or are they?
